• American Checkers or English Draughts: Capturing is mandatory, but backward captures are not allowed. The king can move one square in any direction and can capture backward.
• International Draughts: Capturing is mandatory, and pieces can capture backward. The queen (king) has long moves, allowing it to move any distance diagonally as long as the path is clear.
• Spanish Checkers or Damas: Based on international rules, with the exception that pieces cannot capture backward.
• Turkish Checkers or Dama: Dark and light squares of the checkerboard are used. Pieces move forward and sideways, but not diagonally. The movement of the kings (queens) is similar to that of chess queens.
